This will be Zoom Meeting. Once you register and pay, the Zoom link will be provided for you to log in at the designated meeting time. Zoom does require registration before entering the meeting. 


This course will cover the new Form 1099-NEC (Non-employee Compensation) which will replace payments historically reported on Form 1099-MISC Box 7. We will also review changes to Form 1099-MISC. Some general rules for 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC, 1099-INT, etc., and where are our clients at risk for non-compliance. Penalties related to 1099s. Who qualifies for an extension to file 1099’s? Issuing 1099’s for business rent, what if the landlord uses a property manager? Filing 1099’s for QBI rentals. Plus some AB5 and EDD payroll audits related to 1099s.

BONUS: After the meeting, there will a discussion about virtual practices, tools, and what is working. The goal is to see how we can all be better equipped to be virtual in 2021. 


Webinar Speaker: Jane Ryder, EA, CPA has been providing tax preparation, accounting services, and tax collection resolution services since 1980. She runs her San Diego CPA firm, Brass Tax Ryder Professional Group, Inc. (Not affiliated with Brass Tax Presentations), and writes and speaks on many income tax, business compliance, and accounting topics. She received a BS in Business Administration (Accounting) from SDSU and is currently licensed with the California State Board of Accountancy and with the Internal Revenue Service as an Enrolled Agent. Jane has a business centric practice, preparing and consulting on tax, accounting, and compliance matters for Corporations, S-corporations, LLCs, Partnerships, and Trusts. She also specializes in IRS and state agency collection problems, payment plans, audit representation, audit appeals, offers in compromise, and other compliance-related issues.

Rodney Couts, EABonus Session Speaker: Rodney J. Couts, EA (Rod) first began preparing taxes in 1987 and in March 2005 he was admitted to practice before the Internal Revenue Service as an Enrolled Agent after passing the highly rigorous enrolled agent exam in September 2004. Enrolled Agents are among a limited group of professionals that are allowed to represent taxpayers before the IRS on a nationwide basis. Enrolled agents are recognized by the IRS as America's tax experts. Rod is also a nationally known automobile leasing expert, and was recognized by Federal Reserve Board chairman Alan Greenspan for his contributions to the Board's Leasing Education Program team. The team developed the Board's web site content and print materials for educating consumers about automobile leasing.
