Three years have gone by with the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. This topic will prepare us for the 2020 tax season with the latest updates from the recent legislation impact on Federal and California tax returns and the new tax forms. We will discuss the rebates to the Stimulus Payments, Capital Gains, Retirement Plan and Retirement Fund withdrawals. One of our examples will be on the W-2 Wage and the repayment of the FICA taxes. The update on California will prepare you for the upcoming tax season and provide some end of the year insight into California conforming and non-conforming issues concerning Federal Covid-19 enacted tax provisions. New legislation will be discussed that may affect your client going forward into year 2021 These pre-updates will help you so you can inform your clients of any new issues which may need to be considered.
