Topic:
There are unique challenges and rules in preparing a tax return for Clergy/Pastors. We will explore Pub 157. This includes tax information for the following classes of taxpayers: Ministers, Members of a religious order, Christian Science practitioners and readers, Religious Workers, Leaders of a recognized religious sect. We will explore, sources of income and fringe benefits, wages, self-employed income and tax-exempt allowances. The goal of this workshop is to help the attendee to develop new resource tools for determining and understanding the tax issues for completing Clergy tax returns.
Presenter:
David Eastis, CRTP, BA, MA David Eastis, joined the California Society of Tax Consultants in 2004. He has served as Secretary for theGreater Long Beach Chapter. In 2012 he completed a 4 year term as Secretary. Served as 1st Vice President for the Society and served as CSTC President in 2015 and 2016. He is currently serving as president of the Orange County Chapter. He has been encouraged to share his interest in teaching and speaking at local chapters, at Summer Symposium, Fall Forum and has instructed the CSTC Fundamentals Class in the Fall.
