Topic: 

California tax credits help reduce the amount of tax your client may owe. If they pay rent for their housing, have a family with children, or help provide money for low-income college students, they may be eligible for one or more tax credits. California also has earned income tax credit that may get your client a refund even if they do owe tax.The purpose of this workshop is to review and understand the California Tax Credits for 2024. The goal of this workshop is to enhance the tax professional’s use of California tax credits, thereby providing a complete, current, and correct tax return for their clients.

Presenter:

David Eastis, CRTP, President of Orange County CSTC Chapter
David A Eastis, CRTP, received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of La Verne in 1980, and Master’s Degree from Bethany Seminary in 1984. He served as a pastor for 16 years and served on several national not-for-profit Board of Directors. Later, after completing his pastoral assignments, David completed his accounting degree in 2003 from Indiana University, South Bend, Indiana. In 2003, David moved back to California to work in the family tax and bookkeeping business, now located in Brea California.David joined the California Society of Tax Consultants in 2004. As an active member of the CSTC he has served as Secretary for the Greater Long Beach Chapter, served as Secretary for the Society Board , served as 1st Vice President for the Society Board, served as CSTC President in 2015 and 2016, served as past president for 2017 and 2018, and served as a director of Region Three in 2021/22. He currently serves as the President of the Orange County Chapter.CSTC has encouraged David to share his interest in teaching and speaking at local chapters, at Summer Symposium, Fall Forum, and has taught the Fundamentals Class. David and his wife Ann live in La Habra, CA with their dog Archie.
