Topic:
When our clients sign up for Medicare, there are many parts to Medicare. They do not pay premiums for Medicare Part A, but they do pay premiums for Part B and D. The amount of premiums they pay is based upon their level of income - known as IRMAA (Income-Related Monthly Adjusted Amount). Our clients get upset when they get the letter from Medicare telling them their Medicare premiums are going up which means they are getting a cut in their Social Security benefits. In this seminar we will learn about the Medicare premiums and how they are computed. We will learn about the most common triggers for IRMAA adjustments and what we can do to manage them. We will also learn about Form SSA-44 for a redetermination of the IRMAA adjustment. We will also learn about how to avoid IRMAA or at least minimize IRMAA.
