Course Description: 

This presentation will cover two of the most overlooked tax savings opportunities, the section 179D energy deduction and section 45L energy credit. They will touch on qualifications, strategies for implementation, recent updates, and case study examples. They will also go over cost segregation studies and their many benefits, how they are performed, and frequent questions that arise when using these reports. They will also cover other additional benefits of cost segregation including bonus depreciation, catch up depreciation, reduced recapture and partial asset dispositions.

Steve Mecham completed his Bachelor of Arts, emphasis in Marketing, from the Marriott School ofManagement at Brigham Young University. Later in life, he successfully completed a Legal Studies degree at Utah Valley University.He is currently employed by Cost SegregationAuthority and has combined his business degree and legal degree into a career of educating business owners, medical and legal professionals, wealth advisors, real estate professionals, and CPAs how best to protect their assets and minimize their tax liabilities.
