Topic:

In today's world, people earn their living in ways that didn't exist even 10 years ago. Social influencers, bloggers, cryptocurrency investors, van-lifers, professional gamers, Uber and Lyft drivers, E-Bay and Pinterest sellers, game show contestants, reality TV cast members, gig workers, part-time landlords, remote workers...Determining how old tax laws impact these new occupations is like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole... In this course, we are going to cover many of these new situations to show where the law lines up and where we may need to exercise professional judgment.

Learning Objectives:
#1: Determine whether or not a taxpayer’s travel expenses are deductible
#2: Understand what constitutes an ordinary and necessary business expense
#3: Use facts and circumstances to determine whether an activity is a trade or business, or a hobby"
