This session details preparing Form 1120-S (S Corps). Complete examples are provided for most common tax returns including Schedules K-2 and K-3, plus common elections such as PTET elections and S Corp elections, and shareholder loans, contributions or buy out reporting requirements, best practices for cost of good sold, shareholder basis issues, tax reporting options to maximize QBI deductions, retained earnings, and more. Worksheets and examples starting with the client's financial reports, making needed tax adjustments (Tax AJEs), then preparing a complete and accurate business tax return.
1. Learn hands on Form 1120-S step by step preparation with complete examples including K-2 & K-3
2. Understand how to report common elections such as PTET, and an S Corp S Election
3. Determine best strategies for reporting basis components, shareholder loans and distributions
4. Learn reporting decisions to maximize taxpayer's tax benefits and QBI deduction

Jane Ryder, EA/CPA
Jane has been providing tax preparation, accounting services, and tax collection resolution services since 1980. She runs her San Diego CPA firm, Brass Tax Ryder Professional Group, and writes and speaks on many income tax, business compliance and accounting topics. She is currently licensed with the California State Board of Accountancy and with the internal revenue service as an Enrolled Agent. Jane also consults on tax, accounting, and compliance matters for Corporations, LLC's, Partnerships, and Trusts. She also specializes in IRS and state agencies collection problems, payment plans, audit representation, audit appeals, offers and compromise and other issues.
