Topic:

Part One: SSA With You Through Life’s Journey & Medicare Made Clear
Michael Teixeira will provide everyone with information and tools to address all-things Social Security. We will also cover the taxability of Social Security. The vast majority of Americans are eligible for Medicare when they turn 65, but it’s a complex entitlement benefit with many rules. And breaking the rules can hurt financially. How can you help your clients (as well as yourself) avoid these costly mistakes? We’ll talk about the ABCs (and D!) of Medicare, timeframes to enroll, working past 65, IRMAA, and more! Mindy Moros will then answer as many of your questions as time permits.

Part Two: NOLs
When a preparer hears the term NOL, a lot are intimidated by it. We will go in-depth on what creates an NOL, how to identify one, and once identified, a taxpayer's options. We will discuss carryforwards, carrybacks, the methodology of how to apply a carryback, who still qualifies for a carry back and review California rules.
