Description:

In this "Detective Themed" presentation, we will learn how to investigate and collect the evidence needed to "execute" the best possible solution to dig your clients out of the hole. This presentation will teach how to complete an IRS Power of Attorney and perform an Investigation with the IRS and available resources. By the end of this course, you will understand when a collection hold is necessary, what SFRs (Substitute Filed Return) and CSEDs (Collection Statute Expiration Date) are and how to use those to your client’s advantage to formulate a tax resolution plan.

Presenter:

Melissa Northrup, E.A.
Melissa “Mel” Northrup is a member of the Orange County Chapter of CSTC and specializes in IRS and State Tax Resolution. She has a degree in accounting, has been preparing taxes since 2004, became an Enrolled Agent in 2012 and has been practicing in her small business located in Chino Hills since 2009. She specializes in back filers, collections and resolution work. Although she enjoys work, Mel’s heart belongs to the animals.
