Topic:

Part One: Schedule A- Line by Line
The Schedule A is not used as often as it used to be but it is still a complicated form. We will go through the different types of medical expenses that are allowed and some that aren't, mortgage interest, charitable contributions and some oddball deductions. We will also review the old rules that still apply to California

Part Two: Form 2106- Police Officers, Firefighters, Nurses, etc
Form 2106... What is it? When should it be used? Do you ever wonder if your clients in certain industries such as Firefighters, Police Officers, Teachers, Nurses, Salesman, and more are getting their maximum deductions? Are there industry specific deductions that might be overlooked? If you have asked these, or other related questions: This topic "Form 2106 – Police Officers, Firefighters, Nurses, etc". is for you. Attendees will get a generalized review of the form, as well as an in depth list of examples of industry specific deductions, audit references, and more...

Part Two
Kenneth Quick, CRTP
Those that know me, know I am an energetic and very organized individual who thrives on human contact. Interacting with others is a high priority for me. I graduated from high school in 1990, received my tax preparer accreditation in 1995, and prepared my first tax return professionally in 1996. I met Lisa, my (then) future wife, at a networking event during that tax season, and married her in October of 1997. Our daughter TaylorAnn was born in May of 1999, and I took some time off to enjoy every moment. In 2000, I returned to preparing taxes and I have not looked back since. I truly enjoy it and the client contact just as much now, (if not more) than I did then.In 2013, I branched out and partnered with Bernstein Financial Services, Inc. in an effort to manage and maintain my own practice, while having a larger company association which allowed me to be full service to my clients. One of the greatest things I get to do is to help my clients with their tax planning and preparation. Outside of work, I enjoy event planning, cherish time with friends and family, decorating and volunteering. I love to be a “Part of the Solution”.
