Description:

The sale of real estate property in the state of California calls for a portion of the proceeds to be sent to the Franchise Tax Board. There are exceptions when this is not required and as preparers we need to be abreast of the regulations pertaining to this matter. There may also be occasions when refunds are due to the taxpayer and assistance is required to bring closure to the process. The presentation will address when the withholding is required, who is to establish the process and how to report the payment. The form 593 and associated forms will be reviewed and discussed.

Officers of the Long Beach chapter will take responsibility for presenting and leading discussion. Members will also be invited to provide input.
