The impact becomes even more dramatic for clients who have d one advanced estate planning in order to make gifts, transfer businesses, p lan for paying estate taxes, provide themselves with asset protection, or o therwise maximize wealth and plan for the future. John K. Bishop, a Califor nia attorney practicing in the areas of estate planning and tax law, will b e presenting on “Estate Planning and Taxes: How these two fields of law int ersect, and what it means for your clients”. John will begin with an overvi ew of the considerations clients make in preparing a basic estate plan: rev ocable trust, Will, Financial Power of Attorney, and Healthcare Directive. John will then give a flavor of many of the advanced estate planning techni ques that are available to clients wanting to make lifetime gifts or genera tional dynasty trusts, minimize estate tax exposure, or transfer a family b usiness with minimized income tax impact.
