Since 1976, Karen has owned and operated her accounting and tax business in
Modesto, California. She specializes in the income tax, bookkeeping and pa
yroll for individuals and small businesses. Since 2009, Karen has served as
a Director for the California Tax Education Council. Prior to that she ser
ved as a Governor’s appointee to the Tax Preparer Advisory Committee for th
e State of California, Department of Consumer Affairs. Currently Karen serv
es as Educational Chair of the Central Valley Chapter of California Society
of Tax Consultants, Inc. (C.S.T.C.) and Program Chair for the Tuleburg Cha
pter of American Business Women Association.She is also Past President of t
he California Society of Tax Consultants, Inc., Past President of the Centr
al Valley Chapter of C.S.T.C. in Modesto California, and Past President of
American Business Women’s Associations Tuolumne River and Golden Poppy Chap
ters. As an instructor for Yosemite Community College District (YCCD), she
has taught courses in Practical Bookkeeping, Payroll Accounting, Accounting
, Income Tax Preparation, Budgeting, and Small Business Management in Modes
to and she also taught courses in Life Skills for youth groups in Columbia,
California. Karen is now retired from YCCD.Karen has been an Advisor to Al
liance Small Business Development Center and University of California Coope
rative Extension. She is also active in several other local and national bu
siness and professional organizations.
