We all know something about Estate Pla nning Trusts, and many have heard about AB Trusts. For that matter, many pe ople have heard about AB, ABC, Charitable, CRUT, CLT, Revocable, Irrevocabl e, living, family, asset protection, QDOT, QTIP, IRA, and just about every "type" of trust you can think of. A lot of the names assigned to trusts are just that, names. Other names are acronyms while others are just letters r epresenting a trust's function. In this seminar, we will explore what is me ant by the "AB" trust and how they are still used today, but for different reasons. We will start with the basics of living trusts and move quickly in to specialty trusts like the AB and ABC trusts. All trusts deal with variou s tax situations, and some are taxed currently while others are taxed after they become irrevocable. We will discuss some of tax consequences of estat e planning trusts.
