It is impo rtant to remember that IRS Form 990 is not an income tax return, but an inf ormation return for tax-exempt organizations. This workshop presentation an d materials will provide attendees with useful ideas and resources that ena ble the tax preparer to navigate through the various parts and schedules of Form 990. Therefore, the goal of this presentation is to have the attendee complete a Form 990. It will also stimulate thought and discussion which e nables the attendee to effectively navigate through the tax form and variou s schedules.
Dav id A Eastis, CRTP, received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of La Verne in 1980, and Master of Arts in Theology Degree from Bethany Se minary in 1984. David completed his accounting degree in 2003 from Indiana University, South Bend, Indiana. In 2003, David moved back to California to work in the family tax and bookkeeping business, now located in Brea Calif ornia.David joined the California Society of Tax Consultants in 2004. As an active member of the CSTC he has served as Secretary for the Greater Long Beach Chapter. In 2012 he completed a 4-year term serving as Secretary for the Society Board of Directors, served as 1st Vice President for the Societ y Board of Directors in 2014, served as CSTC President in 2015 and 2016, se rved as past president for 2017 and 2018, and currently serves a director o f Region Three in 2021/22. CSTC has encouraged David to share his interest in teaching and speaking at local chapters, at Summer Symposium, Fall Forum , and will be instructing the Fundamentals Class in the Fall of 2021.David and his wife Ann live in La Habra, CA with their dog Archie.
