Description:

This topic will cover Data Theft and Protection to increase your understanding identity and data theft scams, and the impact on you and your clients. The awareness about data loss thefts, where information ends up lost or stolen and how to protect taxpayer information and actions to take when compromised. Will discuss the IP Pin Opt-In Program which will provide information and update on how to get the “IP PIN” and what steps to take if you cannot verify online. Also, will include the Forms 2848/8821 with E-Signatures and provide information on new options for submitting third party authorization forms that have been signed electronically and understand ways to authenticate taxpayer’s identity when conducting remote transactions.

During her 15 years, she held several different positions in field exam, Small Business/Self-Employed (SB/SE) Examination. She was a Revenue Agent, On-the-Job Instructor, Coordinator, Acting Group Manager, and Classroom instructor. She speaks at organization meetings, conferences, seminars and workshops, both face-to-face and via webcast, on tax related topics that are relevant to the given tax professional or small business audience.
