Topic:
CALIFORNIA TAXATION will be a review and discussion of current State legislation which may affect individual and business tax filers for tax year 2020. Conformity and Federal differences will be explored using FORM 540 CA. The application of California Tax Credits, including Earned Income Credit, will be reviewed. How to collect documentation for California Tax Credits and retention of records will also be reviewed. California withholding, and why understanding the difference from Federal withholding, using Employment Development Department FORM DE-4 will assist with having correct withholding amounts for current tax year. COVID-19 impact on the individual and business tax filer will assist the tax preparer to understand additional questions and documentation may be required. All attending will have a current and better understanding of California Tax Code and how to prepare a California FORM 540.
