Topic: Ethics and California Seminar

A review of the application of Ethics in your business, both in the environment and results of tax preparation. With a goal of: Safeguarding how you advertise your services, Protecting your client's privacy, Protecting you from clients that are less than honest, Saying too much or too little in the education of your clients, proper handling of documents, and providing some handy worksheets.The California Update Workshop contains materials reviewing California tax law as it existed for tax year 2017 and what is unchanged for tax year 2018. Finally, all content is supplemented with discussion of the differences between Federal and California Tax Law and how it impacts preparation of California tax returns.

Presenters: Elaine Woodson, EA and Chuck Woodson, EA 

Elaine and Chuck are a husband and wife team. Their business, Horizon Planning is in Serra Mesa near Montgomery Field Airport, San Diego County. Elaine served as the 2012-2013 President for the San Diego Chapter of CSTC and has been a board member since 2014. Chuck has been preparing taxes since 1976. He became an Enrolled Agent in 1981. Chuck served as the 1991 President of the San Diego Chapter of the California Society of Tax Consultants. He specializes in trust and estate tax income tax returns. In addition to tax services he offers a 60-hour CTEC approved tax preparation course.
