Topic: 

Ethics are also a philosophical framework used to analyze what are the right and the wrong courses of action given a particular situation or set of circumstances. The focus of this course is on ethics and ethical behavior, both in general and specifically relating to CPAs.  The goal to provide a hands-on application of the material. The course reviews the general nature and basic theories of ethical behavior; why ethics are critical to individual CPAs and the accounting profession as a whole; several models for ethical decision-making; and the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct. The primary objective of the course is to help educate CPAs in the ethics of the accounting profession. (2hr CPE) Last subject: An update on the Department of Labor Fiduciary Rule (1hr CPE)

Presenter:

Kenneth (Ken) Quiat is a Senior Wealth Advisor with Belpointe Asset Management, LLC and President of Direct Lenders’ Insurance Services located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Ken began his financial services career in 1986 in Denver, CO. Shortly after, Ken was recruited to work for Chevron and moved to Northern California. As one of Chevron’s Management Program candidates, Ken worked on projects in Russia and Kazakhstan. In 2000, Ken completed his Life and Health licensing requirement with A.D. Banker and rejoined the financial services industry. Ken developed not-for-profit networking that allowed him to become a top investment and insurance producer. After working for large insurers, fraternal insurance companies, and bank brokerage, Ken branched out on his own and created his own insurance agency.Ken holds FINRA series 7 and 66 licenses, CA Resident Life and Health producer license as well as several other non-resident licenses. Ken holds the advance designation of Fraternal Insurance Counsellor Fellow (FICF) awarded to top agents working with Fraternal insurance companies and will be completing his CFP requirements in the coming year.
