Topic:

In this meeting you will learn about a tool that can be used for a qualifying individual to defer an allowable amount of their Required Minimum Distributions up to age 85 called a Qualified Longevity Annuity Contract or a QLAC. You will learn what a QLAC is, how it works, when it is appropriate to be utilized, it’s use as a retirement tool, what are it’s advantages and disadvantages, and which individuals, especially those who are only taking their RMD’s because they must, would benefit using a QLAC. Additionally, we will discuss other strategies to plan for and to help maximize retirement income and help minimize the financial risks faced in retirement.

Joel Candib, CPA, CLU, ChFC, CA Insurance Lic #0B12870, graduated from San Diego State University with a B.S. Degree in Accounting in Dec. 1976. Joel earned his California CPA Certificate in January 1983 and practiced accounting as a Sole Practitioner in San Diego, CA until he sold his accounting practice in Nov 1991. Although no longer actively practicing accounting, Joel has maintained his fully active CPA License status to date. Joel joined New York Life Insurance Company in San Diego, CA as a Licensed Agent in May 1993. He has maintained his practice as a Financial Professional to date. Joel’s practice is Focused on Business and Personal Insurance Solutions, Strategies and Implementation, Insurance and Estate Strategies and Strategies to Maximize Retirement Income. Joel is able to create value for his clients by his ability to leverage the resources and strength provided by New York Life, his years of experience as a former practicing CPA and his extensive experience of over 32 years in the Insurance Industry to assist his clients formulate their needs and goals and to provide the best strategies to be able to achieve them.
