Exploring The One Big Beautiful Bill Act The One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBBA) is a huge bill that will affect virtually every taxpayer, with parts of it going into effect in 2025. In this class, we’ll explore the bill, with a focus on the provisions that will be on our 2025 tax returns and how we’ll report them. The IRS has been issuing guidance, including at least one new tax form, so we’ll review the latest information available on topics such as No Tax on Tips, No Tax on Overtime, and the Enhanced Deduction for Seniors.
Learning Objectives:
1.Review the provisions of the OBBBA
2.Identify the provisions effective for 2025
3.Understand the latest IRS guidance that’s been released
4.Consider which clients may be affected and how to advise them

Presenter(s):

Linda Dong, EA
Linda Dong graduated with honors from the University of Illinois in Chicago with a degree in Accounting. She went to work for the IRS, where she received a very thorough training in taxes and began auditing corporations. Not liking the adversarial relationship inherent in tax audits, Linda left the IRS and started a tax and accounting practice from her home. She grew her practice to include four employees, but eventually downsized to be once again a sole practitioner working out of her home office. In 2024 she and another Enrolled Agent formed Acacia Tax Services LLC. Together they provide tax and accounting services to individuals, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations. Linda has been an Enrolled Agent (EA) since 1982. Her credentials from the Accreditation Council of Accountancy and Taxation (ACAT) include Accredited Business Accountant (ABA) and Accredited Tax Advisor (ATA). She is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and often teaches classes in accounting and tax to other professionals. She is currently serving as Immediate Past President of the California Society of Tax Consultants and Secretary-Treasurer of the Wine Country Chapter.
