Topic Description: 

Part one:
This is a beginner course designed for those who want to start preparing business returns – Schedule C. Partnerships, Corporations, and LLC’s. What’s deductible, what forms are required, and when to enlist the help of another professional. The biggest emphasis will be on schedule C’s, but we will introduce and discuss entity basis, differences, and the pitfalls.

Part two:
We will Discuss 2021 TY tax season challenges for both Federal and State levels for Tax Professionals.

Part One: Michele Patterson, EA and Claudia Stanley, CPA

Michele Patterson, EA
Michele, an Enrolled Agent, prepares individual and business entity returns, oversees bookkeeping, payroll services, and California DRE inspections and reviews. She is a CSUF alumni. She frequently assists Claudia in presenting continuing education classes for various tax topics.

 

Claudia Stanley, CPA, EA
Claudia Stanley is a practicing CPA & EA in the Fresno area, as partner in C. Stanley, CPA & Associates. She is a graduate of California State University, Fresno, and serves as treasurer of the California Society of Tax Consultants, as education chair of the Central California Chapter of Enrolled Agents and as treasurer of Fresno’s local chapter of American Business Women’s Association. Claudia is a long time member of CSTC. In 2016 she was named member of the year of the Central Valley Chapter of CSTC and in 2001 she was named on of Top Ten Women of the Year in the nation by American Business Women’s Association. She frequently speaks on various tax topics.

 

Part two: Jerrie Muir, EA

Jerrie Muir is an Enrolled Agent who previously worked for the Internal Revenue Service as a Tax Auditor, Internal Revenue Agent, and Stakeholder Relationship Tax Consultant. Jerrie has taught income tax, QuickBooks, and accounting classes at a number of Southern California community colleges. He has served in the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army, and is a U.S. Army War College graduate. Jerrie has over 25 years of teaching and tax preparation experience in the U.S., and overseas at military installation and U.S. Embassies. His focus is tax preparation for the self-employed taxpayer. Jerrie also has experience with preparation of individual tax returns with the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion, Foreign Tax Credit, and military related tax provisions. Jerrie can help you meet your federal and state tax obligations, file any required tax returns, and if needed, audit representation before the Internal Revenue Service and Franchise Tax Board
