Description:

Military personnel and family members are subject to a number of special tax rules. Both IRS and California have military related tax provisions. Knowing these can make a significant difference on the tax return. We will review and discuss military income and what is taxable and non-taxable income as well as how those tax rules affect the 1040 Tax Return, Taxable Income, and Special Credits including EITC calculations.California has unique conformity and non-conformity on the taxation of military personnel’s income and particularly on how military spouse’s residency is determined so we will cover CA FTB Pub 1032 and California’s Military Spouses Residency Relief Act (MSRRA).
