Meeting Description:

It is important to remember that IRS Form 990 is not an income tax return, but an information return for tax-exempt organizations. This workshop presentation and materials will provide attendees with useful ideas and resources that enable the tax preparer to navigate through the various parts and schedules of Form 990. Therefore, the goal of this presentation is to have the attendee complete a Form 990. It will also stimulate thought and discussion which enables the attendee to effectively navigate through the tax form and various schedules.

Speaker:

David A Eastis, CRTP, received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of La Verne in 1980, and Master of Arts in Theology Degree from Bethany Seminary in 1984. David completed his accounting degree in 2003 from Indiana University, South Bend, Indiana. In 2003, David moved back to California to work in the family tax and bookkeeping business, now located in Brea California.David joined the California Society of Tax Consultants in 2004. As an active member of the CSTC he has served as Secretary for the Greater Long Beach Chapter. In 2012 he completed a 4-year term serving as Secretary for the Society Board of Directors, served as 1st Vice President for the Society Board of Directors in 2014, served as CSTC President in 2015 and 2016, served as past president for 2017 and 2018, and currently serves a director of Region Three in 2021/22. CSTC has encouraged David to share his interest in teaching and speaking at local chapters, at Summer Symposium, Fall Forum, and will be instructing the Fundamentals Class in the Fall of 2021.David and his wife Ann live in La Habra, CA with their dog Archie.
