Topic: 

Kathy Rodriquez, EA, will share her knowledge of the Native American tax returns, what incomes are included in exempt and nonexempt taxation, Federal conformity, California Income tax exemption requirements, what is Indian country, and what are the filing requirements. Geroge Fakhouri, CPA, will be presenting Ethics, which will include discussing what it means to practice before the IRS, what should a tax preparer do if they have knowledge of a client’s omission of income, what a tax preparer may rely on with using client-provided information, and standards associated with giving advice to the client. If time permits an open discussion on tax problems will be included.

Kathy Rodriguez started doing Taxes in 2002. She worked for H&R Block for 5 years then opened her own tax company which is Kathy's Tax & Notary Service in 2007. She has been preparing Native Indian taxes since 2002 and is married to a Native Indian.

George Fakhouri is a C.P.A. in private practice for over 40 years. George holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Santa Clara University, graduate work in Accounting and Tax at San Jose State and Golden Gate University. He is the Past President of the California Society of Tax Consultants and the Central Valley Chapter of the California Society of Tax Consultants. George has been a speaker and moderator of the Alamo Tax Retreat for the past 15 years as well as speaking at the annual Updates for the Central Valley. Mr. Fakhouri has been a guest speaker on taxation for several tax organizations and for the general public over the years.
