Marc is a Technical Assistant to the Advocate in the Franchi se Tax Board’s (FTB's) Taxpayers' Rights Advocate’s Office. He has been a member of the Advocate’s Office since December, 2015. Marc started with the FTB in 1989, working as an Auditor and Reviewer. He has h eld staff positions for divisional budgeting as well as acting as a busines s lead for FTB's Activity Based Costing project where he learned the operat ions of the department. Marc’s professional experience began in publi c accounting. He has worked in general practice with a multi-service firm a nd as a financial auditor of non-profit organizations. Marc earned his Cert ified Public Accountant in 1992. He graduated from San Jose State Universit y with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emph asis in Accounting and a minor in Industrial Technology.

Dana has been involved with establishing and communicating f rameworks for risk assessment and management since the beginning of his car eer. He began at Royal Bank of Canada where he worked with banks and corpor ations around the globe hedging financial interest rate risk and currency r isk on both sides of the balance sheet. Later, he wrestled with risk of a d ifferent flavor as he worked with technology companies in the protection an d monetization of intellectual property, where risk-tradeoffs of potential and actual litigation around that intellectual property are constant strate gic and financial considerations. Dana currently serves as Vice President f or VeriFyle, in Silicon Valley, which leverages patented encryption key man agement technology to isolate information risk at a granular level and stop the devastating bulk-access-vulnerability that threatens businesses and in dividuals today. Dana holds an MBA from The Wharton School of the Universit y of Pennsylvania.
