Description:

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) was signed into law 12-22-17. The IRC section 199A Qualified Business Income Deduction (QBID) was a new and very complicated IRC provision included in TCJA. The application of this new 20% QBID is potentially very far reaching for all Form 1040 filers including those with Schedules C, E, F and pass-through entities including partnership, trust and S-corporation. The IRS released proposed regulations on August 8, 2018 consisting of 184 pages and over80 examples. On October 16, 2018 IRS held public hearings on 199A QBID with witnesses calling for clarifications and interpretations regarding various aspects of the rules when they are made final which is expected to be before the 2019 tax filing season. In this brief two-hour interactive presentation, we will immerse ourselves with IRC199A, becoming more fluent with how QBID works, who it applies to and the multitude of planning opportunities for taxpayers and tax practitioners.
